Revival or Renewal

Though our outward man perish yet the inward man is renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16)

I hope some of you will agree with me that it is of far greater importance that we have better Christians than that we have more of them!

If we have any spiritual concerns, our most pressing obligation is to do all in our power to obtain a revival that will result in a reformed, revitalized, purified church.

Each generation of Christians is the seed of the next, and degenerate seed is sure to produce a degenerate harvest; not a little better than but worse than the seed from which it sprang. Thus the direction will be down until vigorous, effective means are taken to improve the seed.

Why is it easier to talk about revival than to experience it? Because followers of Christ must become personally and vitally involved in the death and resurrection of Christ. And this requires repentance, prayer, watchfulness, self-denial, detachment from the world, humility, obedience and cross-carrying!

  1. Great post but Your first statement is a statement I don’t agree with. Our call is to proclaim the Gospel to All: edify the believers, and minister to the lost. God says finding the 1 lost sheep is more important than the 99 found. Do you agree with that statement?

    • Yes, we should seek the lost and lead them into His Kingdom. The issue if you not are Prayed Up and Fasted Up you will not be able to stand against the attacks, you will not have His power working through you. Head knowledge will only get you so far. However to have the Holy Spirit working through you – you must have a clear and unfettered connection to the God of Heaven. It is not possible to pass along something you do not have. People can be misled based upon head knowledge only. That it is why to better to have a few good Prayed Up and Fasted Up Christians than a large number of people who would be washed away in a rainstorm. I hope that helps.
